|| Research
My current main research interests are:
  • Cooperative wireless communication in ad hoc and sensor networks
  • MAC and cross-layer design for cooperative transmissions
  • Applications for cooperative communication
Currently I'm involved in the project "Cooperative Relaying in Wireless Networks" from Lakeside Labs. See the detailed description here.

|| Teaching
Currently, I hold the exercise course Mobile and Wireless Communications, which supplements the corresponding lecture hold by Prof. Bettstetter.

I also offer some research topics in diversity communication techniques and cooperative networking for research projects and Master/Bachelor theses.

|| Short CV
Nikolaj Marchenko joined Mobile Systems Group at the University of Klagenfurt in January 2008 and works now on his PhD thesis in the area of cooperative communiations with Prof. Christian Bettstetter as the main advisor.

He graduated with a Diploma degree in Computer Engineering (Technische Informatik) from RWTH Aachen University, Germany in 2007.

During his studies Nikolaj Marchenko did a half-year internship at Ericsson Eurolab in Aachen, Germany, were he was involved in the Ambient Networks project. His Diploma thesis he wrote during an interniship at Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, NJ, USA, where he worked on Quality-of-Service in relay enhanced IEEE 802.16 (WiMax) networks.

September through December 2011 Nikolaj spent as a visiting scholar to Smart Antenna Research Laboratory of Prof. Mary Ann Ingram at Georgia Tech (Atlanta, GA).
